Job Purpose
- To operate refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring timely and effective waste collection services for residential and commercial areas. The role supports the local authority’s commitment to maintaining clean and sustainable communities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive and operate refuse collection vehicles in accordance with legal and safety standards.
- Collect household, recycling, and commercial waste from designated routes.
- Assist loaders when necessary, including manual handling of waste containers.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure accurate completion of route sheets and other documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner when interacting with the public.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Support additional waste management tasks as required, including bulky waste collection and special events.
