This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority aimed at developing, coordinating and supporting practice learning arrangements for professional social work training. The role is crucial in promoting and facilitating the achievement of post-qualifying awards and Continuous Professional Education and Learning (CPEL). The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the quality of social work training and professional development within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Workforce Development and Training Manager in implementing the Social Care Workforce Development Plan for Adult and Children's Services.
  • Coordinate practice teaching arrangements within the Social Care and Health Group.
  • Identify, train and support practice teachers providing guidance to students on placement.
  • Manage arrangements for employees seconded for professional social work training.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the independent and voluntary sectors and Higher Education Providers to maintain a local Practice Learning Partnership.
  • Promote and facilitate post-qualifying awards and Continuous Professional Development activities.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in a social care setting.
  • Experience in formal training of colleagues and/or other professionals.
  • Experience in supervising, supporting or coaching staff, students or volunteers.
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Evidence of post-qualification professional development.
  • Relevant Training and Development qualification.
  • Registration with the Care Council for Wales or equivalent.
  • Full valid driving license and use of a car.
  • DBS and HCPC Registration required.
