Job Description

Role: EL & PL Legal Executive

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Salary: £30,000 - £37,000

Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid

CRA Consulting is delighted to be working exclusively with a nationally recognised claimant law firm to appoint an experienced Employer's Liability / Public Liability Legal Executive.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious litigation professional to join a well-established specialist team representing individuals who have sustained injuries arising from workplace accidents and public liability incidents.

The successful candidate will take on a strong, quality caseload while benefiting from excellent technical support, genuine opportunities for career progression and a supportive, collaborative working environment.

The Role

As an EL/PL Legal Executive, you will manage a varied portfolio of pre-litigated and litigated claims, taking responsibility for progressing matters efficiently and delivering a consistently high standard of client service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of claimant Employer's Liability and Public Liability claims from initial instruction through to settlement or trial.
  • Assessing liability, analysing evidence and identifying key legal and evidential issues.
  • Instructing and reviewing medical evidence and assessing the value of claims.
  • Preparing court documentation, schedules of loss, witness statements and other litigation documents.
  • Negotiating settlements with defendant insurers and their solicitors.
  • Issuing proceedings where necessary and managing claims through the litigation process.
  • Working closely with counsel, medical experts and other relevant third parties.
  • Providing clients with clear, practical advice and keeping them updated throughout their claim.
  • Ensuring all matters are handled in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant Pre-Action Protocols.

About You

We would like to hear from Legal Executives, Litigation Executives, experienced Fee Earners and Senior Paralegals with a background in claimant personal injury litigation.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience handling claimant Employer's Liability and/or Public Liability claims.
  • The confidence and ability to manage your own caseload with limited supervision.
  • A strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and client management skills.
  • A commercially focused approach combined with a strong commitment to client care.
  • The ability to organise, prioritise and manage competing deadlines within a busy litigation environment.

Experience of multi-track litigation would be beneficial. However, candidates with strong fast-track EL/PL experience who are ready to broaden their expertise and progress their career are also encouraged to apply.

What's on Offer?

This is an opportunity to join a firm that values its people and provides genuine support for professional development.

The successful candidate will benefit from:

  • A competitive salary with regular opportunities for salary review.
  • Hybrid and flexible working options.
  • Clear and achievable career progression.
  • Ongoing training and technical development.
  • A comprehensive employee benefits package.
  • A collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Recognition for individual contribution and performance.
  • The opportunity to handle high-quality claimant litigation alongside experienced specialists.

Interested?

If you're an experienced EL/PL litigation professional looking for your next career move, we'd be pleased to hear from you.
