Probate Solicitor / Legal Executive | Hybrid & Home Working
Locations: Sheffield | Manchester | Bristol | Stratford-upon-Avon
How would your working week look with less commuting, more flexibility and no pressure to bring your own following?
If you're an experienced Probate Solicitor, Legal Executive or Probate Fee Earner who enjoys the work but wants a better overall package and working pattern, this opportunity is definitely worth a look.
CRA Consulting are working exclusively with a major UK legal services provider that is significantly expanding its specialist Probate and Estate Administration team.
And there are opportunities at several levels.
Significant home working
Salary up to £65,000
Full-time OR part-time options
Up to 32 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays
Up to 10% employer pension contribution
Genuine career progression
This isn't one of those roles where "hybrid working" means you're still commuting into the office most of the week.
The business has genuinely embraced flexible working, with lawyers dividing their time between home and regional offices in Sheffield, Manchester, Bristol or Stratford-upon-Avon.
Why should you consider it?
Quite simply, there's a lot on offer.
The salary ranges from £40,000 to £65,000 depending on your level and experience, alongside:
- Significant home/hybrid working
- Full-time and part-time options
- Holiday increasing to 32 days with service
- Employer pension contributions of up to 10%
- Annual performance-related bonus
- Private healthcare at senior level
- Training, coaching and study support
And there's another major attraction...
You don't need to bring a following.
You don't need to generate your own pipeline of Probate work.
The business generates the work for you, allowing you to focus on what you actually became a lawyer to do - advise clients, manage cases and develop your technical expertise.
What will you be doing?
You'll join an established specialist Probate team managing Estate Administration matters from initial instruction through to completion.
Your caseload will vary in value and complexity and responsibilities will include:
- Managing Probate and Estate Administration cases
- Advising executors and beneficiaries
- Handling estates of varying complexity
- Managing matters from instruction to completion
- Building strong relationships with clients
- Reviewing and progressing estate administration work
- Maintaining accurate case records
- Working with modern case management technology
- Collaborating with specialist colleagues
- Mentoring junior lawyers where appropriate
You'll also have administrative support around you, freeing up more of your time for legal work and client relationships.
Who are we looking for?
Don't rule yourself out because of your job title.
I'd be interested in speaking with:
- Chartered Legal Executives
- Probate Fee Earners
- Senior Probate Lawyers
The important thing is that you have good Probate/Estate Administration experience and can confidently manage your own caseload.
You'll need strong client-care and organisational skills and should be comfortable working independently from home while remaining part of a wider team.
A more modern way of working
This is also a business investing heavily in how legal services will be delivered in the future.
Technology and AI-enabled processes are being incorporated into the legal platform to reduce unnecessary administration and improve efficiency.
The idea isn't to replace the lawyer - it's to allow lawyers to spend more time on the work where their technical expertise and client-care skills genuinely add value.
What could this move give you?
Maybe you're not actively looking.
But ask yourself:
Would fewer days commuting improve your week?
Would part-time hours give you a better balance?
Would a pension contribution of up to 10% make a difference?
Would 28 days' holiday rising to 32, plus Bank Holidays, improve your overall package?
Would you prefer not having the pressure of generating your own following?
Would you like to join a Probate team that's growing rather than standing still?
If you've answered yes to a few of those, it's probably worth us having a conversation.
Not looking yourself but know a good Probate lawyer who might be?
Feel free to share the opportunity with them.
