Wills & LPA Paralegal to join their Private Client team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Paralegal or Legal Assistant with an interest in Private Client to join a supportive team and develop their career within

Wills, Estate Planning and Lasting Powers of Attorney .

The Role

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, work directly with clients and assist with the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

You will play an important role in helping clients make arrangements for their future, requiring a high level of professionalism, empathy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own caseload of Wills and LPA matters.
  • Meeting with clients to take instructions for straightforward Wills.
  • Listening carefully to clients’ wishes and accurately recording their instructions.
  • Preparing and drafting Wills based on client instructions.
  • Explaining documents clearly to clients and dealing with any queries.
  • Issuing draft documents to clients promptly for review.
  • Identifying matters involving trusts, Inheritance Tax or other complex issues and referring these to senior members of the Private Client team.
  • Advising and assisting clients with Lasting Powers of Attorney.
  • Supporting clients through the preparation, signing and registration of LPAs.
  • Ensuring files are accurately maintained and compliant with internal procedures.
  • Managing billing and assisting with the closure of matters.
  • Providing a high standard of client care throughout the process.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider Private Client team.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have

  • Previous experience within a legal environment, ideally Private Client, Wills or Probate.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within Wills and Private Client.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal sensitively with clients.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and caseload effectively.
  • Confidence working independently while also contributing to a wider team.
  • A professional and client-focused approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
