A nationally recognised firm and team with a strong support structure is seeking a Restructuring & Insolvency Associate / Senior Associate to join their established Sheffield team. This role offers hybrid working and is open to relocators with a link to the Yorkshire region or candidates further afield willing to travel to the office each week.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded restructuring and insolvency practice with an outstanding reputation for advising insolvency practitioners, lenders, corporates, directors, investors, and business purchasers on a broad range of complex matters arising from financial distress and business restructuring.
The successful candidate will become part of a specialist national team, working alongside experienced lawyers on high-quality restructuring and non-contentious insolvency mandates for a diverse client base that includes leading advisory firms, financial institutions, and corporate organisations.
The Role
- Advising insolvency practitioners on corporate insolvency processes
- Assisting with business restructuring projects and turnaround situations
- Supporting distressed business and asset sales, including pre-pack transactions
- Advising directors, lenders, and investors on insolvency-related issues
- Working on finance and security matters connected with distressed situations
- Collaborating with colleagues across a nationally recognised restructuring practice
About You
Applications are welcomed from solicitors with approximately 1-4 years' PQE, although candidates outside of this range with relevant experience are encouraged to apply. To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in restructuring and non-contentious insolvency matters gained during training or post-qualification or have experience gained in transferable areas of law such as corporate or banking/finance
- Exposure to insolvency advisory work, distressed business sales, and related finance/security matters
- Strong technical and commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- The ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- A genuine enthusiasm for restructuring and insolvency law
