Legal E-Biller 7 month maternity contract. My client is an award winning, market leading, tier 1 ranked boutique law firm. We are seeking a detail-oriented legal E-Biller to manage and maintain accurate billing processes across multiple currencies and platforms. You will ensure timely invoicing, compliance with client requirements and support financial reporting to maintain profitability and efficiency. This is a seven month contract and applications are welcomed from individuals who want to be based in Leeds or Sheffield with hybrid working. Ideally you should be available to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manually review work in progress (WIP) reports across multiple currencies (GBP, USD, EUR, JPY) to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Ensure invoices comply with client billing guidelines and contractual terms.
- Post disbursements to client matters, including appreciation of relevant foreign exchange rates.
- Manage ad hoc billing and finance queries received via accounts inbox.
- Monitor e-billing system notifications for rejected or pending invoices and take corrective action promptly.
- Monitor e-billing accruals and ensure they are correctly reflected in accounts.
- Set up new timekeepers and billing rates in e-billing system according to client agreements.
- Support month-end and year-end billing processes as needed.
- Manage onboarding for new e-billing clients, including system configuration and training for internal teams.
- Reconcile payments received into the bank and coordinate supplier payments.
- Produce fee earner time reports and analyse utilisation trends to support meaningful conversations.
- Compile profitability reports for key clients and matters providing meaningful insights to management.
The Person
- Experience in legal billing or e-billing, finance operations, preferably in a law firm or legal services environment.
- Strong understanding of WIP reporting, billing cycles and profitability concepts.
- Confidence working with multiple currencies and financial systems.
- Hands-on experience with LawFusion (or similar legal e-billing platforms) would be ideal but not essential.
