Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Role Overview & Daily Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse personal injury caseload including:
  • Road Traffic Accidents (RTA), both portal and non-portal cases
  • Employer's Liability (EL) claims, including workplace accidents and health and safety breaches
  • Public Liability (PL) and Occupiers' Liability (OL) claims, such as slips, trips, and falls
  • Occasional Clinical Negligence matters, including misdiagnosis and surgical errors
  • Initial client intake, risk assessment, and establishing liability
  • Gathering and reviewing medical evidence, witness statements, and expert reports
  • Regular client communication to provide updates and manage expectations
  • Liaising with third parties including insurers, defendants, counsel, and medical experts
  • Assessing the strength of a claim and advising clients accordingly
  • Handling claims through the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) Portal (Stages 1-3) and transitioning claims out of the portal where necessary
  • Drafting and issuing formal court proceedings when required
  • Prepare and draft a range of legal documentation, including Claim Forms and Particulars of Claim, Defences and Replies to Defence, Part 8 claims for infant approvals or inter partes applications.
