Take the lead in one of the UK’s most respected personal injury teams CRA Consulting is delighted to be working with a leading national legal services provider that is looking to appoint an experienced RTA Technical Lead Solicitor to join its expanding Leeds office.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Personal Injury Solicitor who enjoys the technical side of litigation and is looking to move into a role where they can influence quality, mentor colleagues and help shape best practice across a high-performing claimant team.

Rather than managing a large personal caseload, this position allows you to use your expertise to provide technical leadership, support complex litigation and develop the next generation of personal injury lawyers.

The Role

As Technical Lead, you will be the go-to expert for claimant RTA litigation, supporting colleagues with complex legal issues whilst maintaining the highest standards of legal practice and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Providing technical supervision and legal guidance to a team of claimant personal injury professionals.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for complex RTA litigation and associated personal injury matters.
  • Reviewing legal advice, pleadings, applications and court documentation.
  • Supporting colleagues with liability, quantum and litigation strategy.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior lawyers and claims professionals to improve technical capability.
  • Carrying out quality audits and file reviews to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of legal processes, risk management and technical standards.
  • Working collaboratively with fellow Technical Leads to continually improve service delivery across the wider business.
  • What we’re looking for

This opportunity would suit an experienced Personal Injury Solicitor who enjoys technical excellence, mentoring others and working on complex legal issues rather than carrying a traditional high-volume caseload.

Ideally you will have

  • Qualified Solicitor status with solid claimant personal injury experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of RTA litigation, with additional exposure to EL/PL matters advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the OIC Portal, MOJ Portal, Civil Procedure Rules and Pre-Action Protocols.
  • Experience drafting court documents, applications and instructions to Counsel.
  • Excellent knowledge of liability, quantum and the Judicial College Guidelines.
  • Previous experience providing technical supervision, mentoring or team leadership would be highly desirable.
  • Outstanding communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
