CRA Consulting is delighted to be working with a leading national legal services provider that is looking to appoint an experienced Motor Damage Defendant Litigator to join its expanding Defendant Litigation Team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Litigation Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Litigation Executive looking to specialise in defendant motor litigation.

The Role

Reporting to the Litigation Team Leader, you will manage your own portfolio of litigated defendant motor damage claims, taking responsibility for progressing files efficiently from receipt of proceedings through to settlement or final hearing.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing a caseload of litigated defendant motor damage claims.
  • Reviewing evidence and assessing liability to determine the most appropriate litigation strategy.
  • Drafting defences, witness statements and other court documentation.
  • Negotiating settlements where appropriate to achieve the best commercial outcome.
  • Instructing Counsel and preparing cases for final hearings.
  • Delivering clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice to clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with court deadlines, Civil Procedure Rules and internal quality standards.
  • Keeping up to date with developing case law and litigation practice.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional legal service.
  • What we’re looking for

This opportunity would suit an experienced Litigation Solicitor, Legal Executive or Litigation Executive with a background in defendant insurance litigation, motor claims, personal injury or fraud.

Ideally you will have

  • Previous experience handling litigated motor damage or personal injury claims.
  • Experience gained within either a law firm or insurance environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation process.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy preparation skills.
  • Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience reviewing evidence and developing effective litigation strategies.
  • Excellent organisational and case management skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of client service.
  • A proactive, collaborative and commercially minded approach.
