CRA Consulting is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading national law firm to recruit a Paralegal for its highly regarded Housing Management and Property Litigation team based in Leeds. With a strong presence across England and Wales, the firm has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality legal services to a broad range of clients, including housing associations, local authorities, corporate organisations, developers, charities, investors, and private individuals.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Paralegal to gain exposure to a broad range of housing management and property litigation matters while working alongside experienced solicitors and senior fee earners. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the team’s ongoing caseload while developing the skills and experience needed to take ownership of matters independently. The position offers excellent training, exposure to court work, and genuine opportunities for professional development within a nationally recognised practice.

The team acts on behalf of Registered Providers of Social Housing and private landlords, advising on a variety of housing and property-related disputes and management issues. Previous experience within Housing Management or Property Litigation would be advantageous but is not essential, and applications are welcomed from candidates with strong litigation support experience from other practice areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting solicitors and fee earners with the management of housing management and property litigation matters
  • Drafting legal documentation, including claim forms, pleadings, witness statements, and court applications
  • Assisting with the preparation of court bundles and trial documentation
  • Managing key deadlines and ensuring files progress efficiently
  • Liaising with courts and external parties regarding case progression and procedural matters
  • Responding to enquiries from clients, counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Attending court hearings to provide support to counsel and fee earners where required
  • Undertaking advocacy in the County Court on straightforward matters, where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures
  • Conducting legal research and administrative tasks to support ongoing casework
  • Undertaking occasional site visits where necessary
  • Contributing to team objectives and meeting agreed performance targets

The Team

You will join one of the largest specialist Housing Management and Property Litigation teams in England and Wales, comprising more than 70 legal professionals, including partners, solicitors, and paralegals. The department acts for over 100 Registered Providers nationwide and is widely recognised for its expertise in housing law, possession proceedings, injunctions, anti-social behaviour matters, and wider property-related disputes. This is a collaborative and supportive team environment where professional development and career progression are actively encouraged.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally possess:

  • A Law degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent legal qualification/conversion
  • Experience assisting with litigation matters and preparing court documentation
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to explain legal concepts clearly and professionally
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
