Working within a collaborative and forward-thinking litigation team, you will manage a diverse caseload of Claimant Employer’s Liability, Public Liability and complex Road Traffic Accident claims, delivering outstanding client care while achieving excellent outcomes for your clients.

The Role

Reporting to the Litigation Team Leader, you will manage your own caseload of litigated RTA, Employer’s Liability and Public Liability claims from instruction through to settlement or trial.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing a varied caseload of claimant RTA, EL and PL litigated matters.
  • Investigating liability, causation and quantum while assessing the overall merits of each claim.
  • Collating and reviewing evidence to formulate the most effective litigation strategy.
  • Advising clients throughout the claims process, ensuring expectations are managed professionally and proactively.
  • Negotiating settlements with insurers and defendant representatives to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Drafting court proceedings, pleadings, witness statements and other legal documentation.
  • Instructing Counsel where appropriate and preparing cases for final hearings.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules, Pre-Action Protocols and all court deadlines.
  • Managing files efficiently to meet service standards and departmental objectives.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing development of the wider litigation team.
  • What we’re looking for

This role would suit an experienced Personal Injury Litigator who enjoys handling a varied litigated caseload and is looking to further develop their career within a nationally recognised claimant practice.

Ideally you will have

  • Previous experience handling litigated RTA, Employer’s Liability and Public Liability claims.
  • Experience gained within either a law firm or insurance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, Pre-Action Protocols and relevant case law.
  • Experience using a legal Case Management System.
  • Good understanding of the Judicial College Guidelines and personal injury valuation principles.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A proactive approach and genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
