Due to ongoing growth within their Personal Injury department, the firm is seeking to recruit a Defendant EL/PL Claims Handler to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to further develop their experience within defendant personal injury claims, handling a varied caseload of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability matters on behalf of insurer and corporate clients.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of EL/PL claims through the MOJ Claims Portal, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in line with client and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of Defendant EL/PL claims from instruction through to settlement
- Handling claims efficiently via the MOJ Claims Portal
- Investigating liability and quantum issues
- Negotiating settlements with claimant representatives
- Liaising professionally with clients, third parties, experts and insurers
- Drafting correspondence and maintaining accurate file records
- Pursuing recovery actions where appropriate
- Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and client service standards
- Maintaining accurate reserve and risk assessments
- Working towards individual and team performance targets
The role would suit candidates with previous experience handling Defendant Personal Injury matters, particularly EL/PL claims. However, candidates with a strong background in Defendant RTA claims who are looking to transition into EL/PL work are also encouraged to apply.
