CRA are recruiting for an experienced RTA Claims Handler to join a specialist Motability team within a leading insurance organisation. This is an opportunity to work within a supportive environment where customer outcomes, technical expertise, and professional development are highly valued.

Reporting into a Team Leader, you will manage a varied caseload of Road Traffic Accident claims, including OIC, MOJ, Fast Track, complex claims, and Part 8 litigated matters. You will use your existing claims experience to progress post-whiplash reform cases where liability and quantum are disputed, ensuring customers receive a high-quality service and appropriate legal guidance throughout the claims journey.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage a mixed caseload of RTA claims from initial notification through to resolution
  • Handle OIC, MOJ, MIB, Fast Track, complex and litigated Part 8 claims
  • Progress post-whiplash reform claims involving disputed liability and quantum
  • Manage a caseload of up to 200 claims
  • Assess and value claims up to £20,000
  • Provide clear, accurate legal advice while maintaining excellent customer service standards
  • Work within regulatory, legal, and business guidelines
Working arrangements:

This role operates on a hybrid basis, combining office and home working to provide flexibility while maintaining team collaboration.

What we’re looking for:
  • Previous experience handling Fast Track RTA personal injury claims within an insurer or law firm environment
  • Knowledge of OIC and MOJ Pre-Action Protocols, alongside Civil Procedure Rules for personal injury claims
  • Understanding of tariff and non-tariff valuations, including the Judicial College Guidelines for assessing general damages
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Experience working towards performance targets and quality measures
  • Ability to manage a busy workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
