Our client is an established and highly regarded law firm with a growing presence in the Derby market. They are looking to appoint an Employment Solicitor to join their team, with the role being open to candidates across a broad range of PQE levels.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Solicitor looking to join a supportive team and take on a varied caseload, advising both employer and employee clients across a broad range of employment matters. The firm is open to considering candidates from NQ level through to more experienced Solicitors, with the level of responsibility and complexity of work tailored accordingly.

The Role

You will advise clients across a varied employment caseload, which may include:

  • Employment Tribunal claims and litigation
  • Unfair and wrongful dismissal
  • Discrimination and whistleblowing matters
  • Redundancy and restructuring
  • Settlement agreements
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Employment contracts, policies and procedures
  • Restrictive covenants and confidentiality issues
  • TUPE
  • General day-to-day employment advice
  • Supporting clients with contentious and non-contentious employment matters

You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice while developing and managing your own caseload.

About You

We are keen to hear from Employment Solicitors at all levels of PQE, including candidates who have recently qualified and those with several years' post-qualified experience.

You will ideally have:

  • A solid grounding in employment law
  • Experience handling your own employment caseload, appropriate to your level
  • Strong drafting and advocacy skills
  • Excellent client-care and communication skills
  • The ability to provide practical and commercially minded advice
  • A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing your career within employment law

For more experienced candidates, there is scope to take on greater responsibility, develop client relationships and play an important role in the continued growth of the team.
