Job Description

Job Title: Claims HandlerLocation: Leeds City Centre (Hybrid Working)Salary Range: £40,000 to £45,000 + BenefitsContract: Full Time, PermanentRole Overview & Daily Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into incident circumstances and claim value, including legal research as needed.
  • Assess the merits and value of personal injury claims, including the recoverability of financial losses.
  • Provide accurate legal advice and manage client expectations with clear communication throughout the claims process.
  • Negotiate settlements to secure the best outcomes for clients, ensuring compliance with instructions and updating legal expenses providers at key stages.
  • Prepare legal documents for court proceedings, including statements, directions, and briefs for counsel; review costs as necessary.
  • Progress cases efficiently to meet departmental targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), keeping clients proactively informed.
  • Identify and report conflicts, complaints, and potential negligence to the relevant team or compliance lead promptly.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the department's development by promoting best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Previous experience managing an EL/PL / RTA claimant personal injury caseload is required
  • Experience handling litigated personal injury claims is required
