CRA Consulting are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly regarded claimant law firm in the recruitment of a Child Abuse Claims Solicitor to join their specialist Doncaster-based team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a compassionate and driven solicitor, whether Newly Qualified or with post-qualification experience, to build a rewarding career representing survivors of child abuse and helping clients secure justice and compensation following deeply traumatic experiences.
Working within a nationally recognised department, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable clients through sensitive and complex legal matters, acting with empathy, professionalism and a strong commitment to achieving positive outcomes.
The Role
As a Child Abuse Claims Solicitor, you will manage and assist with a varied caseload of child abuse compensation claims, including historical abuse matters, institutional abuse cases and applications through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). You will work closely with experienced colleagues, receiving excellent supervision and mentoring while developing specialist expertise within this highly rewarding area of claimant litigation. This position would suit candidates from a range of litigation backgrounds who possess excellent client care skills, strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting access to justice.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of child abuse compensation claims with appropriate supervision and support
- Assisting senior solicitors on complex and high-value abuse litigation matters
- Advising clients sensitively throughout the claims process
- Handling matters involving:
- Historical child abuse claims
- Abuse within educational, religious and care institutions
- Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) applications
- Civil claims against organisations, local authorities and other institutions
- Preparing legal documents, witness statements and correspondence
- Liaising with counsel, medical experts and other third parties
- Maintaining accurate case management records and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Supporting business development initiatives and raising awareness of the firm's specialist services
- Advocating for the rights of survivors and helping clients access justice and redress
About You
- Qualified Solicitor in England Wales (NQ+)
- Experience in personal injury, abuse litigation, clinical negligence, civil litigation or related claimant work would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- A compassionate and professional approach when dealing with vulnerable clients
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and empathy
- Team-oriented with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service
