Role: Military Claims Solicitor
Location: Castleford, West Yorkshire
Salary: £30,000 - £55,000
Contract: Full time, permanent
CRA Consulting is pleased to be partnering with a highly regarded claimant law firm to appoint a Military Claims Solicitor / Litigation Executive to join its expanding team in Castleford.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced personal injury professional to join a specialist team supporting current and former members of the Armed Forces. You'll work on a varied and meaningful caseload of military injury and industrial disease claims, helping clients secure the compensation and support they deserve.

The Role
You'll manage your own caseload of military-related personal injury and industrial disease claims, taking responsibility for matters from initial instruction through to settlement and, where necessary, trial.
Your caseload may include:
- Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL)
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Non-Freezing Cold Injury (NFCI)
- Asbestos-related disease
- Other military injury and service-related claims
You'll be responsible for:
- Managing a caseload of both litigated and pre-litigated military claims
- Carrying out legal research and developing effective case strategies
- Drafting pleadings, court documents, witness statements and correspondence
- Instructing and working closely with medical experts, counsel and other professionals
- Obtaining, reviewing and assessing evidence to support client claims
- Negotiating settlements and guiding clients through the litigation process
- Maintaining accurate and compliant case files
- Ensuring all work meets relevant regulatory and procedural requirements
- Keeping up to date with developments in personal injury litigation, military legislation and the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme
About You
The role would suit a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Litigation Fee Earner with a background in claimant personal injury.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous experience managing a personal injury or industrial disease caseload
- Strong litigation and file management skills
- Excellent communication and client care abilities
- The confidence and sensitivity to deal with complex and often personal client circumstances
- A well-organised and proactive approach
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
Previous experience in military claims would be beneficial, but it isn't essential. The firm is happy to consider candidates with transferable claimant personal injury experience and will provide training and support to help you develop within the role.
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 - £55,000 salary, depending on experience
