An established and highly regarded regional law firm is looking to appoint a Family Law Associate to join its busy and supportive family team in Alfreton. This is an excellent opportunity for a family lawyer with around 3 years' PQE who is looking to develop their career within a well-established practice, taking responsibility for a varied caseload while working alongside experienced colleagues.

The role would suit someone who is confident managing their own matters and is looking for a firm where they can build strong client relationships and continue to develop their technical and commercial skills.

The Role

You will handle a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, advising clients throughout the lifecycle of their cases. Your work is likely to include:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial remedy matters
  • Private children disputes
  • Cohabitation and separation agreements
  • Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
  • Domestic abuse matters
  • Applications relating to children
  • General family and matrimonial disputes

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, providing high-quality legal advice and keeping clients informed throughout their matter. There is also scope to develop your experience further within the wider family department and take on increasingly complex work as your career progresses.

About You

We're looking for a qualified family lawyer with approximately 3 years' PQE, although applications from candidates with slightly more or less experience will be considered where the overall experience is right. You should have:

  • Strong experience in family law
  • Experience managing your own caseload
  • Good knowledge of private family matters
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Strong drafting and advocacy abilities
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes pride in providing a high level of client service and wants to build a long-term career within a supportive legal practice.
