Electrical Test Engineer (Wortley, Leeds)

Responsibilities
- Program, build, and test electrical sub‑assemblies and complete machines.
- Carry out detailed testing, make wiring modifications, and perform fault‑finding activities as needed.
- Work closely with engineering teams to verify schematic drawings, provide constructive feedback and support continuous improvement.
- Configure PLCs, HMIs, drives, and remote I/O units, and make occasional minor software adjustments.
- Ensure machines are delivered fully tested, compliant, and ready for customer approval.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a level 3 apprenticeship or NVQ in Electrical Engineering, and a HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Significant hands‑on experience in programming, testing, wiring, and problem‑solving high‑speed production machinery.
- Strong practical skills in testing, diagnosing faults, applying modifications and ensuring all work meets required standards.
- Ability to read, understand, and work from technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills; able to collaborate with colleagues and support customer buy‑off activities.
- Organised, methodical, calm, solution‑focused, and able to work independently when needed.
- Approachable, collaborative, and a natural team player with a positive attitude.
