We have a new vacancy for a Machinist to join our Machine Shop team in Shipley, West Yorkshire working on the triple shift pattern.

Your mission in CMbE
The candidates will possess the ability to manufacture and inspect parts according to drawing requirements, while ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date. The ideal candidates will work to audit areas to company 6's standards to operate and set machinery safely and efficiently, and carry out operator tasks. The candidates should be capable of replacing and monitoring cutting tools, communicating effectively with colleagues across shifts, delivering thorough end-of-shift handovers, and providing on-the-job training to apprentices and new employees. The ideal candidates will have experience participating in non-conformance investigations using techniques such as 5 Whys and 8 Disciplines (5Y/8D), and in documenting relevant data.
About you
Reporting to the Machine Shop Team Leader, the successful candidates will be responsible for operating machine tools to manufacture engineering components, ensuring all parts meet the required standards and specifications while maintaining high machine efficiency. The candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of manufacturing small batch complex components. The candidates should ideally be an apprentice trained engineer (NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification minimum), with mechanical and technical flexibility enabling them to work unsupervised. Knowledge of Mazak, Heidenhain or Fanuc controls is desirable but not essential.
