Job Description
We have a new vacancy for a Mechanical Service Engineer to join our Service team at CMbE CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE), a subsidiary of Crown Holdings, Inc.
About CMbE
CMbE designs, develops, and manufactures high‑performance metal forming and finishing machinery for the production of beverage, food, and aerosol cans.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, maintain, and repair equipment at customer sites.
- Technical fault finding and support commissioning activities.
- Complete all associated documentation and keep customers informed.
- Identify opportunities for machine upgrades and improvements.
- Work independently or alongside colleagues as required.
Qualifications
- Apprentice trained in an engineering discipline; minimum NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proficient reading of engineering drawings and schematics.
- Experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial machinery.
- Experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance, or field service engineering role.
- Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel and stay away from home when needed.
