The Role
Due to continued growth and investment in new machinery, our client is looking to recruit a CNC Operator to join their workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience who enjoys working on varied, bespoke projects rather than high-volume production.
You'll be responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce precision-cut components used in the manufacture of custom-built sets, displays and installations, working closely with designers, carpenters and the wider production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files and cutting programmes
- Produce accurate timber, MDF, plywood and sheet material components
- Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets required specifications
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working order
- Load materials safely and monitor machining processes
- Work closely with the design and workshop teams to ensure projects are delivered on time
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Assist with workshop duties when required during busy production periods
About You
- Previous experience operating CNC machinery
- Experience working with timber, MDF or sheet materials is desirable
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of workshop health and safety procedures
- Experience with CNC programming software would be advantageous but is not essential
