We are currently representing a specialist, independent project consultancy delivering complex M&E and infrastructure works across the built environment. Known for being agile, hands-on and delivery-focused, they support clients on technically challenging projects where clear leadership, accountability, and real-world commissioning experience are essential.
Due to ongoing workload across Central London, they are looking to engage an experienced Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager on a long-term day-rate basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Commissioning Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a Commissioning Manager role.
Responsibilities- Developing and managing commissioning plans, strategies, and programmes
- Coordinating commissioning activities with project teams, contractors, M&E specialists and end clients
- Managing commissioning schedules and ensuring works align with overall programme
- Witnessing, testing and validating systems in line with project requirements
- Managing commissioning documentation including test scripts, results, certification and close-out packs
- Identifying and resolving commissioning, integration, and performance issues
- Supporting handover, training and final close-out activities
- Ensuring commissioning is delivered in line with H&S, quality, and compliance standards
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager
- Strong background in M&E / building services / infrastructure environments
- Confident working in complex, live environments (high-profile sites desirable)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of commissioning delivery
- Strong attention to detail with documentation and compliance processes
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- £350 - £400 per day (depending on experience)
- Long-term contract with strong project pipeline
- Permanent opportunity available for the right person
- Site-based role in Central London
- Immediate or short-notice start preferred
