We are working with a well-established, design-led SME developer to find a proactive and detail-focused Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. Based out of their Leatherhead head office, this role offers a unique blend of head office support, site-based involvement, and flexible work-from-home arrangements. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial delivery of a variety of projects, from bespoke residential builds to mixed-use and commercial schemes, typically ranging from £500k to £5m in value. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with a lean and collaborative project team and wants real ownership and exposure across all stages of the construction process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and tender documents
- Support the procurement of subcontractors, materials, and services
- Monitor project costs and provide accurate reporting to senior commercial leads
- Contribute to valuations, variations, and final account settlements
- Attend site meetings and liaise regularly with project managers and site teams
- Help manage change control and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure projects remain commercially viable while maintaining build quality
