CR1 Group is supporting a medium sized main contractor with an annual turnover of approximately £80m as they continue to expand their national programme of retail and distribution centre refurbishments. With over £40m of secured work delivering small to medium-scale schemes for a global brand, the business is now looking to appoint a permanent Contracts Manager to play a key role in this long-term rollout.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable, growing organisation with a strong pipeline of work across the North West and North East. Project values typically range from £2m to £6m.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring each site operates efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will split your time between site visits, office presence, and working from home, giving you a balanced and flexible working structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all project sites are managed effectively and operate smoothly
- Oversee several refurbishments and fit-out schemes simultaneously
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams to maintain seamless delivery
- Track progress against programme milestones and provide clear reporting to the wider team
- Maintain rigorous quality control and proactively resolve any issues during construction and fit-out
About You
- Proven experience as a site-based lead manager on refurbishment and fit-out projects
- Background in distribution centres, warehouses, or similar industrial environments (highly advantageous)
- Strong understanding of construction processes, health & safety, and compliance
- Confident communicator with excellent leadership skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to drive projects through to successful completion
