The jobholder is responsible for ensuring plant and equipment maintenance is carried out to meet the manufacturers recommended guidelines to achieve maximum efficiency and utilisation of owned operational equipment. This role involves mixed site and yard work with frequent travel and occasional overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all H&S laws and regulations.
- Perform plant and equipment maintenance in line with manufacturer guidance.
- Carry out repairs safely in workshop and on site, obeying all site rules.
- Perform PUWER inspections and other required inspections.
- Maintain adequate stock of maintenance and repair consumables.
- Collaborate with a team of plant engineers and apprentices.
- Recommend replacement and renewal of plant and equipment to the plant manager/supervisor.
- Analyse trends to minimise wastage and inefficiencies.
- Report improvements and cost matters with recommendations.
- Produce all necessary reports accurately and timely.
- Support site management teams with reactive repairs to plant and equipment on site.
Key Requirements
- Full knowledge and experience in maintenance and repair of construction plant and equipment.
- Qualified at least to NVQ 2 standard.
- Health and safety awareness.
- Systems management skills.
