The Commercial Manager reports to the Commercial Director and oversees the commercial functions of the business. The role involves preparing commercial results, managing commercial agreements, working with a team of up to 6 direct reports, and supporting commercial aspects of projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6 direct reports and recruit & train additional staff.
• Assist in the tender process and prepare monthly forecasts, budgets and CTC packs.
• Ensure early warnings and compensation events are documented.
• Coordinate commercial team to identify and resolve programme issues.
• Approve commercial agreements and documentation, referencing business law.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and identify growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with contract managers to control cost and manage the supply chain.
• Manage risks and contractual issues to protect company interests.
• Support the Commercial Director on commercial matters.
• Meet turnover and budget targets and work to tight deadlines.

Key Requirements, Qualifications and Skills

• HNC/HND or BSc in Quantity Surveying.
• 10+ years of experience in quantity surveying.
• Proficiency with NEC, JCT & NR9 standard and bespoke contracts.
• CSCS card.

• 42.5 hours per week (Mon‑Fri).
