We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join us at CPW, based at either our Leicester and Nottingham office, or Birmingham office. This is a permanent, full-time position working 36.25 hours per week under our agile framework.

Our clients span a wide range of sectors, including: healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, zero carbon and public sector.

Through the application of research-led design, innovation, and sustainable methodologies we can create tailored solutions that meet the needs of our clients, whilst also being positive for the environment and delivering on net-zero carbon. With over 240 staff across 12 office locations, we run an international operation spanning the UK, Poland and India.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be a vital part of the team and have a high degree of autonomy. You should be a well-organised, flexible, driven, forward planner with the ability to deliver work to a high standard and to tight timescales. You should also be able to manage the mechanical engineering aspects of other more junior members of the team assisting on projects.

  • Acting as Project Leader on selected projects
  • Working as part of a larger team on certain projects
  • Attending principal meetings and making client presentations on selected projects
  • Raising/promoting the level of technical excellence relating to mechanical engineering within the team
  • Helping generate repeat business through customer care of existing clients
  • Working on a variety of technically challenging and interesting projects across varied sectors
  • Being client facing and involved in all stages of the projects from inception to completion

We are looking for someone with a Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards). Candidates with HNC or HND with suitable design experience will also be considered.

Minimum of 3-4 years experience of design in building services, post qualification completion. Experience of Software design using Microsoft suite of programmes, Relux/Dialux, Amtech, Revit. Knowledge of British and European Standards, Building Regulations documents etc. An appreciation of electrical engineering to be able to cover both disciplines at meetings.
