An exciting part time opportunity has opened up at CPSL Mind. CPSL Mind is a vibrant, values-led charity that supports local people in their recovery from mental health issues, promotes wellbeing and campaigns against stigma and discrimination.

Part Time Crisis Recovery Worker

Based: The Sanctuary, Cambridge

Hours: 63 hours per fortnight, working on a rolling 2 week rota

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday (Evenings Shifts: 4.30pm - 11.30pm)

We also seek to influence positive change through our training services and ground-breaking campaigns activity.

About the Service

The Sanctuary is a non-clinical, safe space for individuals to visit as an alternative to attending A&E and is part of the wider First Response Service across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Working one to one (either face to face, over the telephone, or on video call) you will support individuals experiencing mental health distress by:

  • Supporting individuals through guided self-help strategies including grounding, breathing techniques.
  • Supporting individuals to relay their immediate needs and concerns and offering emotional and practical support and information to address these.
  • Providing individuals with information on and how to connect with social support networks available to them in their own community.

Crisis Recovery Worker criteria:

You should be passionate about promoting positive mental health and have excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
