Role Description

The Head of Engineering is a full-time, on-site role based in Basingstoke and reporting to the CTO.

They will be responsible for leading and developing the hardware and software engineering organization that supports CPS’s cash management solutions coming out of the companies UK and Indian operations.

This role oversees engineering strategy, delivery, and resource planning, ensuring that software and hardware products meet quality, security, and regulatory standards.

The Head of Engineering will manage and mentor our global engineering team, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvement across development, testing, and deployment processes.

Day-to-day responsibilities also include collaborating with the CTO on product development roadmap that includes reviews with the marketing team to ensure of aligning engineering roadmaps with market needs, managing complex projects and budgets, and ensuring effective communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The role also involves fostering innovation, supporting customer-focused solution design, and contributing to long-term technology direction.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership capabilities with skills in Team Management and Team Leadership to guide and develop diverse engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in Engineering Management, including overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering functions and scaling processes and teams.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex programs on time and within budget.
  • Solid background in Software Development, including modern development practices, architecture principles, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience in enterprise or industrial solutions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product, operations, and customer-facing teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences across the world
  • Track record of implementing engineering best practices and driving continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is advantageous.
