As a full-time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician at Methodist Hospital Southlake, you will assist in various inpatient pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and other duties requested by the pharmacist on duty not requiring the review of a pharmacist. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are directly related to interpreting, entering, preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications, while maintaining excellent customer service with patients at the counter and via telephone. You will assist with purchasing medications for the pharmacy and restock pharmacy shelves. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion.
Schedule: This position is full time, 40 hours per week with scheduled day and evening shifts that includes every other weekend rotation. Based upon business needs, you may be scheduled to work at the Northlake campus in Gary as well.
Starting Pay: $15 - $17 per hour, depending on related work experience.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
- IN Licensure/Registration/Certification requirements
- Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
- Effective communications skills; verbal and written
Hospital Requirements: (may be required)
- (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
- (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
- Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
- HepB 3 Series (or declination)
- (Flu) Influenza - required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
- COVID Vaccine
