The Senior UX Consultant will take the lead on several key UX and Digital Interface projects, being the voice of UX principles and requirements amongst project teams. The Senior UX Consultant will also have responsibility for mentoring and supporting junior UX / Design team members.
Role Requirements
- Contribute expertise and understand users need, creating sketches, concepts, user journeys, wireframes and navigational prototypes.
- Lead on user experience requirements and create compelling user designs.
- Lead the delivery of user requirements (e.g. personas, domain models, functional specifications).
- Engage the wider team and key stakeholders in the user-centred design process, ensuring that user research is central to design decision making.
- Direct the work of UX team members and ensure high quality delivery.
- Manage projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Manage freelancers and other agencies where required.
- Help organise User Research sessions and initiatives.
- Investigate new research or design methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience of providing leadership and specialist knowledge to UX and product teams.
- 5+ years' experience in UX Design & Product Strategy.
- Strong Project Management skills and ability to manage/prioritise multiple, concurrent projects.
- Broad conceptual expertise to help shape product strategy.
- Comfortable presenting design concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Takes a holistic and conceptual approach to design and information architecture.
- Excellent written, spoken and presentation skills; ability to communicate the reasoning behind concepts, methods and approaches to different audiences.
- Ability to balance user needs with what's achievable.
- Aware of the latest UX/ design trends and technology developments.
