CPS Group UK are delighted to be seeking a seasoned Production Technology Project Manager with a specific background and demonstrable track record in supporting IT Production Technology for Film, Media and/or Television Content Production. Working as part of a high-performing Global Program Management & Technology team, supporting top class productions for a major entertainment brand, the Production Technology IT Project Manager will oversee the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a variety of projects and initiatives and will play the critical role of implementing key initiatives for production groups and within the Technology team.

Due to the need to work with US-based teams, the working hours are 1pm - 9pm.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the project manager and point of contact with the production teams for shows based in the UK.
  • Intake production requests, provide updates, assess priority and track schedules, gather technical requirements and manage the show project plans.
  • Lead calls with productions based on the phase of the show: pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Assist in communicating needs, breakfix, and issues that productions have to technology engineers to deliver/fix.
  • Lead coordination with other project managers and business resources to assign tasks to the Studio Technology engineers in the USA.
  • Lead multiple shows/concurrent technology initiatives throughout their lifecycle.
  • Ensure clear reporting of project status from project teams including: timelines, milestone tracking, budget status and issue identification to program management and stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and escalate critical operational tasks.
  • Leverage Studio Technology's business intelligence application (e.g., PowerBI) for executive reporting.
  • Apply analytical and critical thinking to identify team inefficiencies and risk areas.
  • Implement projects or processes to improve operations.
  • Create workflow diagrams of production technology processes and identify opportunities to streamline processes or improve efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing IT/Production Technology Projects in a Film Studio/Content Production environment.
  • Deep knowledge of Production Technology.
  • Experienced with Business Intelligence tools such as MS Power BI.
  • PMP certification (or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Project Management, utilizing waterfall and agile methodology.
  • 3+ years of experience managing a diverse portfolio of projects reflecting a wide range of technologies, complexities, and duration.
  • Experience in helping manage cross-functional technical teams, including architects, infrastructure and data engineers, software developers, system reliability engineers, storage engineers, audio/visual or post-production engineers to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks and organizing and prioritizing work effectively, in a constantly evolving and rapidly changing environment.
  • Certified Scrum Master (or similar).
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills and effective team player.
  • Extensive experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet and Jira.
