Role Description

An on-site and CPS premises based role installing and maintaining AV systems and supporting customers and staff in the resolution of logistical and technical problems. The main part of this role will involve the installation of and maintenance of technical equipment and associated cabling on customer’s sites. This work must be carried out to the highest standards. The role will also include assistance to customers in servicing and maintaining installations after completion. The successful candidate will benefit from in-house technical training, which will be provided by our resident skilled engineers. After on-site training, the candidate will be able to undertake the execution of installation projects to a high standard.

Job Summary and Most Frequent Duties

  • On-site Service, Installation and Technical Work
  • Being involved in maintenance, servicing and PAT testing
  • Contacting customers and suppliers with reference to their service items
  • Responding to customers needs within laid down company procedures

Working Conditions

Based from CPS\’ main office, this position predominantly involves work on customer’s sites and would sometimes involve some out of hours / evening work as necessitated by the entertainment and leisure industry, and from time to time work away from the local area necessitating overnight stays.

Performance Standards

The successful candidate needs to be well-motivated and independent with reasonable technical background. They will work in a tidy and respectful manner with good regard for safe and compliant working practices. They will be capable of working well as part of a team, or independently as required by individual projects.

Essential Qualifications

  • Reasonable electrical knowledge/experience
  • An eye for detail involving planning skills, thorough checking of work and of arrangements, and ability to question if they are correct
  • Ability to prioritise workload based on the business and customer requirements
  • Well-presented and able to communicate effectively with customers and other staff members
  • Technical knowledge of our industry to a basic level
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and confident with an outgoing personality
  • Dependable and reliable with good timekeeping skills
  • Full literacy and computing skills
  • Own method of transport to and from CPS\’ offices
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Qualifications

  • Strong soldering and construction skills
  • Experience in cable installation / containment / hardware
  • Knowledge of the leisure and events industry and associated equipment
  • DIY experience
