CPS Group UK are delighted to be working with a leading technical consultancy to appoint a seasoned User Researcher with Figma and GDS (Government Digital Service) experience. The role is an initial 3-month contract, though is highly likely to extend. The role is part of a team working on a very high-profile project on behalf of a well-known government entity.
Due to the nature of the engagement, applicants must hold active UK Security Clearance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Active SC Clearance (or eligibility and willingness to undergo clearance)
- Proven experience working as a User Researcher within UK Government or public sector, aligned to GDS Service Manual standards
- Strong hands-on experience delivering research across the full service lifecycle (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live)
- Demonstrable experience planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative user research, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and contextual inquiry
- Skilled in translating research findings into clear, actionable insights to inform service and policy decisions
- Experience collaborating closely with product managers, designers, developers, and stakeholders in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in using Figma for research activities such as prototyping, usability testing, journey mapping, and insight sharing
- Strong experience advocating for user-centred design and evidence-based decision making
- Confident presenting research outputs and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Experience working with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive research practices
