Data Analyst

Location: Cardiff (1 Day p/week in the office) Salary: Up to 50,000 + Annual Bonus

CPS Group are supporting a growing Technology Healthcare organisation who are looking for a Data Analyst to join their team in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Analyst with commercial experience of Data Engineering responsibilities to step into a genuinely hybrid role, combining data analysis, data modelling, reporting and elements of data engineering.

The Role

As a Data Analyst, you'll sit at the intersection of business requirements and technical data delivery, working closely with data and business teams to develop trusted data products and reporting solutions.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Designing, building and maintaining analytical data models, including fact and dimension tables.
  • Developing and optimising data pipelines, transformations and SQL queries to produce reliable analytical datasets.
  • Supporting data quality, integrity, traceability and documentation across analytical environments.
  • Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports that provide clear, actionable business insight.
  • Translating business requirements and questions into analytical metrics, measures and visualisations.
  • Supporting the integration of data from multiple operational systems into analytical environments.

Required Experience

  • Commercial experience in a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer or similar role, ideally working across both analytics and data engineering.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern analytical data environments.
  • Experience designing and maintaining analytical data models, including fact and dimension tables.
  • Hands-on experience with data pipelines, transformations and queries.
  • Strong experience with Power BI and delivering reporting solutions to non-technical users.
  • Good understanding of data modelling, data quality and documentation.
  • Experience translating business requirements into analytical metrics, dashboards and visualisations.
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders and communicating complex data concepts clearly. Experience building lightweight analytical applications
  • Experience with reverse-ETL or operational analytics.
  • Experience or interest in regulatory reporting data.
