Frontend Software Engineer - React / TypeScript
Salary up to £50,000 + bonus
Cardiff - 3 days a week onsite
A growing Cardiff based Fintech is looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to join its Engineering team.
You’ll take ownership of frontend delivery for features from design through to production, working closely with Engineering, Product and Design teams. You’ll have the autonomy to make technical decisions, contribute to frontend standards and help support more junior engineers.
The Role
- Build and deliver frontend features using React and TypeScript, working within established component libraries and UI patterns
- Take ownership of work from design through to production, managing delivery, dependencies, quality and testing
- Contribute to technical and design decisions, identifying improvements and managing frontend technical debt
- Work closely with Product, Design and Engineering teams, communicating clearly and constructively
- Support junior engineers and contribute to a strong culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Skills / experience:
- Experience within a similar frontend focused software engineering role
- Strong understanding of React, TypeScript, component libraries/design systems and automated testing
- Comfortable working with CI/CD, Git and modern development practices, with AWS, Docker or accessibility experience desirable
- A strong communicator who takes ownership, cares about UI/UX quality and can work effectively when requirements aren't always fully defined
