CPS Group is supporting a leading engineering organisation in the Bristol region as they look to appoint a Senior Electrical Designer to join their growing engineering function. This is a key role for an experienced professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical delivery with leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement.

You’ll play a central part in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for highly engineered products, working closely with mechanical, software, and firmware teams to deliver robust, compliant solutions. Alongside technical excellence, this role offers the opportunity to influence standards, processes, and team capability within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

The Role:

  • Designing and developing electrical systems and components to recognised standards (including EN, UL, and CSA).
  • Producing high-quality electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Leading and coordinating engineering tasks, ensuring delivery to time and quality expectations.
  • Supporting and mentoring engineers, contributing to onboarding and professional development.
  • Driving continuous improvement across engineering processes, standards, and ways of working.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for electrical design across the wider business.

Skills/ Experience Required:

  • Strong experience in electrical design within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance, standards, and best practices in engineering design.
  • Confidence working across multiple projects with excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to lead by influence and support a “one team” culture.
