Construction Assurance Manager, High Speed Rail Our client is recruiting Construction Assurance Managers to work on one of the most ambitious civil engineering programmes in Europe, making sure that complex construction work is being built correctly, safely and in line with what has been engineered and planned. Candidates from the rail sector are of interest too, including those with a Contractor's Responsible Engineer background, as the programme will move into rail systems delivery in due course. A working knowledge of NEC3 contract principles and Supervisor responsibilities is expected. You will also need a solid grounding in UK construction regulations, including CDM and construction safety management, and an understanding of health, safety and environmental site management processes. The ability to identify and manage risk, to read and follow a construction programme, and to build effective working relationships with contractors and internal colleagues are all important. A degree in civil engineering, construction or building science is expected, though equivalent practical experience will be considered. Useful to have A background that includes an understanding of how to review construction plans, inspect on site and confirm that what is being installed reflects the engineering intent.
