We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Signalling Designer with expertise in Control, Command, and Signalling (CCS) systems, specifically in the design and implementation of interlocking systems (mechanical, electronic, and computer-based) and train detection technologies such as track circuits, axle counters, and ETCS Level 2. In this role, you will be responsible for scrutinising rail system suppliers' designs, products, and engineering solutions, asking fundamental questions, and ensuring the proposed systems meet the required safety and operational standards, including compliance with frameworks like the Common Safety Method (CSM). This role requires more than project engineering skills; we need someone who can "look inside the box" and challenge the technology, pushing for innovative solutions. Experience as a Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) or design architect is preferred, as you will be tasked with evaluating and overseeing supplier designs and processes on a new high-speed railway.
