We're working with a major client delivering Britain's high-speed rail infrastructure programme, and we're recruiting a Systems Safety Interface Engineer to lead system safety activities across the construction and design phase. This is a leadership role. You'll be responsible for ensuring that the railway being built is safe, technically integrated and compliant with regulatory requirements. You're the strategic link between contractors and independent assessment bodies, ensuring safety evidence flows clearly and demonstrably meets regulation. You'll combine deep technical knowledge of railway safety with the ability to work across complex interfaces, multiple contractors, and external regulators. You'll manage risk assessments, develop safety arguments, and translate complex safety evidence into clear compliance demonstrations. Your work ensures the client meets its obligations under the Railways Interoperability Regulations and Common Safety Method on Risk Evaluation and Assessment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead system safety activities across four major civil contractors, four stations, multiple railway system contracts and depots.
- Manage risk assessments for specific discipline areas, planning and running risk workshops that identify hazards and compliance gaps.
- Develop reports that justify and explain safety assessment results to internal teams and independent assessment bodies.
