Emergency Planning & Resilience Officer North London / Hybrid £30.59 per hour Interim Contract A Local Authority in North London is seeking an experienced Emergency Planning & Resilience Officer to join their team on an interim basis. This is a critical role ensuring the council\’s preparedness and response to emergencies, as well as the continuity of essential services. Key Responsibilities: Emergency Response & Business Continuity: Lead the coordination and implementation of emergency response and business continuity arrangements. Risk Assessments & Planning: Develop and maintain effective civil contingency risk assessments and plans, ensuring compliance with statutory and humanitarian obligations. Legislative Compliance: Advise the council on relevant legislation, including the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and best practices. Training & Development: Deliver training programs for council staff, ensuring preparedness in emergency planning and business continuity. Skills & Experience: Essential: ✔ Knowledge of local authority duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and other relevant legislation. ✔ Familiarity with ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management). Desirable: ✔ Professional qualification in a related field. ✔ Experience in a large and complex organisation, including: Developing, writing, and testing emergency plans. Designing and delivering training programs. Leading organisational and multi-agency emergency responses. Implementing Business Continuity Management frameworks. Building and maintaining partnerships across agencies
