We are supporting a major UK infrastructure programme to appoint Commercial Managers into an Integrated Project Team based in Birmingham (plus Milton Keynes and London).
The role supports the delivery of large-scale civil engineering works, including viaducts, tunnels, overbridges and associated structures, working directly with Tier 1 joint venture contractors under NEC forms of contract.
The Role
- Commercial management and NEC contract administration of major civils packages
- Managing Applications for Payment, Early Warnings, Compensation Events and change control
- Reviewing Cost Value Reconciliations and supporting cost verification
- Commercial reporting, governance and assurance activities
- Working closely with engineering, planning and delivery teams
- Supporting dispute avoidance and resolution where required
- Leading and developing commercial resources, proportionate to role level
About You
- Background in major civil engineering or infrastructure delivery
- Strong NEC contract experience is essential
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors on complex, high-value works
- Comfortable operating in a delivery-led environment
- Experience of publicly funded infrastructure programmes is desirable
- RICS or equivalent professional background advantageous but not essential
The client is also open to appointing Assistant Commercial Managers to support the Commercial Managers on these contracts. If you are operating just below full Commercial Manager level, or have strong NEC experience and major civils exposure but are not yet ready to step into full CM accountability, applications are welcomed.
