Our client is a refurbishment contractor based in Orpington, who deliver a mixed specification of projects across London.
Duties:
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure highest service levels.
- Negotiate deals with suppliers to keep material costs low.
- Manage supplier lead times to ensure materials are procured in a timely manner.
- Raising accurate POs for materials.
- Resolve supply issues and implement solutions to stop re-occurrence.
- Implement changes to supply chain to improve efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure levels are meeting company expectations.
- Process and allocate relevant invoices via close working with Contract Managers and Surveyors.
- Organise deliveries in a timely and cost-effective manner using our supplier network.
Experience/skills needed:
- A capable and experienced buyer, with a background in procurement, able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills.
- Experience within a construction environment preferred.
- Organised with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work in a fast-moving construction environment with frequent priority/demand changes.
- A team player, able to communicate well with all departments, across all levels.
