CPXR is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Maidstone, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure or construction who is looking for a role with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to develop their career within a growing contractor.
The role will involve managing the commercial aspects of civil engineering and groundworks projects, including cost control, valuations, variations, subcontractor management, forecasting and final accounts. THE ROLE
- Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of civil engineering and groundworks projects
- Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs, budgets and forecasts to ensure commercial performance
- Managing subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and valuations
- Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations and additional works
- Supporting project teams with commercial advice and cost management
- Preparing monthly cost/value reports and providing accurate financial forecasts
- Reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Background in civil engineering, groundworks, utilities, infrastructure or construction
- Experience of cost control, valuations, variations, subcontractor management and final accounts
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Strong commercial, analytical and organisational skills
- Confident communicating with clients, subcontractors and internal project teams
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial/construction software
- Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification is desirable
Candidates from civil engineering, groundwork, highways, utilities or infrastructure backgrounds will also be considered.
