Site Manager – Care Home Refurbishment Location: Horsham Start Date: ASAP We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a refurbishment project at an existing care home. The project will involve a combination of refurbishment, demolition and structural works, including the removal of part of the existing roof and the extension of one section of the building by an additional floor. Due to the size and nature of the project, the successful candidate will be the sole Site Manager on site, taking full responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the works. Key Responsibilities * Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site. * Managing subcontractors, trades and site operatives. * Coordinating refurbishment, demolition and structural works. * Overseeing the removal of part of the existing roof and subsequent construction of an additional floor. * Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. * Maintaining high standards of health, safety and site housekeeping. * Liaising with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager, subcontractors and other stakeholders. * Managing site logistics, deliveries, materials and access. * Monitoring progress and reporting on programme and any issues arising. * Ensuring RAMS, permits and site documentation are in place and adhered to. * Identifying and resolving issues on site promptly. * Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring the project is delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications. About You The ideal candidate will have: * Proven experience working as a Site Manager on refurbishment or similar construction projects. * Experience managing projects involving demolition and structural alterations. * Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements and site management procedures. * The confidence and ability to run a site independently with minimal supervision. * Excellent organisational and communication skills. * A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing subcontractors. * Relevant construction qualifications, ideally including SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS. * Previous experience working within or around care homes would be advantageous.
