At CPM we’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior HR Advisor to join our HR team. In this role, you’ll provide expert HR guidance and support across the CPM Group, partnering with managers to navigate complex employee relations matters, organisational change, and people-related challenges. This is a full‑time role working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The basic salary will depend on experience. About The Role
As a trusted advisor, you’ll play a key role in driving best practice, ensuring compliance, developing management capability, and supporting the delivery of people initiatives that contribute to a positive, high‑performing workplace culture.
What You Will Be Doing
- Providing expert HR advice and coaching on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, capability and family‑friendly cases.
- Managing a varied ER caseload, ensuring cases are handled consistently, pragmatically and in line with employment legislation and company policy.
- Supporting managers through formal HR processes, offering guidance on risks, options and appropriate outcomes.
- Leading on complex case documentation, correspondence and outcome letters.
- Supporting organisational change initiatives including restructures, consultations, redundancies and TUPE transfers.
- Coaching and developing managers to build confidence and capability in people management.
- Reviewing and improving HR policies, processes and templates to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Maintaining accurate HR records and producing management information as required.
- Partnering with Recruitment, Talent, Reward and operational teams to deliver a seamless people service.
- Contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Keeping up to date with employment law and HR best practice.
About You
You’ll be an experienced HR professional who combines strong employment law knowledge with a practical, solutions‑focused approach. Comfortable handling complex employee relations matters, you’ll build credibility quickly and confidently influence stakeholders at all levels.
Essential
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) with strong generalist HR experience.
- Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases independently.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting organisational change, consultation, redundancy and TUPE activity.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
- Excellent judgement, decision‑making and risk assessment capability.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Resilient, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Desirable
- Experience coaching and developing managers.
- Experience contributing to HR policy development and process improvement.
- Previous experience in a Senior HR Advisor or equivalent role.
