This is an exciting opportunity to become a key representative of Diageo within the Northern Ireland On Trade, working with publicans, bar managers, venue teams and consumers to bring Diageo's exceptional portfolio of brands to life.

You'll be out in the trade every day, building relationships, understanding customers' businesses and helping them maximise the opportunity from the full Diageo portfolio. This isn't simply a promotional role. You'll become a trusted partner to your customers, helping improve brand execution, serve quality, visibility and sales while providing valuable insight back to the Diageo team.

The opportunity

As a Portfolio Brand Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to represent and promote a diverse portfolio of some of the world's most recognised drinks brands. You'll work across the On Trade, ensuring that Diageo brands are visible, well presented, correctly served and actively supported in pubs, bars and venues across Northern Ireland. You'll build genuine relationships with customers, understand what matters to their business and use your knowledge of the Diageo portfolio to identify opportunities and deliver solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with publicans, bar managers, venue owners and other On Trade customers across Northern Ireland.
  • Represent Diageo's full portfolio of brands professionally, passionately and with credibility.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Diageo's brands and be able to confidently communicate their qualities, serve standards and consumer appeal.
  • Visit pubs, bars and venues across your territory, becoming a trusted source of knowledge and support for customers.
  • Understand each customer's business, their challenges and opportunities, and identify ways to improve brand performance.
  • Deliver agreed brand activation plans and ensure Diageo brands are brought to life in the best possible way within each outlet.
  • Educate customers and venue teams on the correct serve, presentation and quality standards for Diageo brands.
  • Help customers develop their sales proposition and maximise opportunities across the Diageo portfolio.
  • Drive visibility, Rate of Sale and execution of priority brands within your territory.
  • Ensure Diageo brands are positioned and presented to the highest possible standard.
  • Support key brand launches, seasonal activity, calendar moments and trade events.
  • Engage with consumers where appropriate, creating positive and memorable brand experiences.
  • Gather valuable market intelligence and customer feedback and share insights with the Diageo Sales team.
  • Identify opportunities and challenges within the marketplace and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Complete regular activity reporting and ensure agreed objectives are delivered.
  • Work closely with the wider Diageo and CPM teams to deliver excellent results for our customers and clients.

Requirements

You'll be a great fit for this role if you:

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can build strong relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Are confident engaging with publicans, venue managers, customers and consumers.
  • Are commercially aware and motivated by achieving results.
  • Are persuasive and able to influence customers while always putting their needs at the heart of your approach.
  • Are passionate about people, hospitality and great brands.
  • Have the confidence and enthusiasm to represent a wide portfolio of well-known drinks brands.
  • Are curious and always looking for ways to improve, solve problems and create opportunities.
  • Are tenacious, target-driven and comfortable working towards agreed objectives.
  • Take pride in your appearance and understand the importance of representing premium brands professionally.
  • Are organised, self-motivated and able to manage your own time and territory effectively.
  • Are adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
  • Have a full, clean manual driving licence and are comfortable travelling extensively across Northern Ireland.

Experience

Previous experience in sales, hospitality, the drinks industry, brand activation or another customer-facing field role would be advantageous, but it isn't essential. We're more interested in your personality, attitude, communication skills and ability to build genuine relationships with customers. You'll receive training and support to develop your knowledge of the Diageo portfolio, so if you're passionate about people, enjoy being out in the trade and have the enthusiasm to represent some of the world's best-known drinks brands, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefits

  • £28,000 annual salary
  • 10% on target bonus scheme
  • Full-time, 5-day-per-week role
  • 20 days annual leave
  • Company van
  • Company phone
  • Company iPad
  • Employer pension contribution
  • Lunch allowance
  • Full training and ongoing support from the CPM and Diageo teams
