Detail-orientated and organised shipping and packing Operative in the logistics team.

Responsible for the packing and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.

Role involves coordinating with various departments, managing packing materials, and maintaining detailed records of shipments.

Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Production management upon completed manufactured parts/equipment and follow SOP
  • Determine appropriate packing methods to suit manufactured parts/equipment for secure and safe transportation by road, sea or air to support customer satisfaction upon delivery,
  • Manufacture bespoke pallets and/or crates to suit equipment using appropriate materials (sheeting, shrink-wrap, banding etc.)
  • Identify loading plan and issue packing notes and loading plan to logistics
  • Cross-functional collaboration with other departments to understand and support timeline of required shipment dates
  • Coordinate with external packing company as and when required.
  • Liaise with Logistic Coordinator, confirming transportation method and collection days/times
  • Action safe working practices for loading and unloading transport
  • Conduct stock counts of timber lengths and packing materials
  • Daily pre-use checks to be completed in line with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Adhere to company policy and procedures for health and safety records

Requirements

Skills / Experience

  • FLT Licence – Essential
  • Experience in using power tools
  • Experience manufacturing pallets or packing of parts
  • Experience of popular Microsoft applications – Word / Excel / Outlook
  • Good oral and written communication skills and ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Able to communicate and advise at all management and employee level.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
